Cannondale SuperSlice Lab71: third-generation TT platform with BSA, UDH and 32 mm tyre clearance

Cannondale unveils the third-generation SuperSlice, exclusively as a Lab71 frameset. Modern standards, 10 watts faster and available worldwide for the first time - for €6,999.

Cannondale introduces the third generation SuperSlice, a completely redesigned time trial and triathlon platform appearing exclusively under the Lab71-label. The bike was developed in collaboration with EF Pro Cycling and, unlike its scarce predecessor, is available worldwide as a frameset.

The main shifts are not just in aerodynamics, but in the standards under the ‘bonnet’: a BSA 68 mm threaded bottom bracket, Universal Derailleur Hanger (UDH) and space for tyres up to 32 mm.

10 watts at 50 km/h

Cannondale says that a saving of 10 watts at 50 km/h has been achieved compared to the second generation, representing 14% less drag of the overall system. That gain, according to the manufacturer, comes from deeper tube profiles and a tighter integrated front end, developed through CFD simulations and wind tunnel validation.

The frame is made up of Series 0 carbon, the highest layer in Cannondale's carbon hierarchy. Despite the deeper, more material-intensive shapes, frame weight remains limited to 1,122 grams (size M). The total frameset weight, including fork, seatpost and basebar, comes out to 2,026 grams.

BSA and UDH: less hassle in maintenance

The frame uses a BSA 68 mm threaded bottom bracket instead of PressFit. The UDH-dropout makes the platform compatible with the latest powertrains, including SRAM Red AXS XPLR. Please note that the frame only supports electronic switching, both 1x (max 64T) and 2x (max 60/46T).

Cockpit and fit

The integrated SystemBar TT basebar, developed with Vision/FSA, offers 100 mm stack and 120 mm reach adjustment. The seatpost has 45 mm of fore-aft movement, allowing the effective seat tube angle to range from 74 to 77 degrees, suitable for both UCI positions and steeper triathlon setups. Hydration systems from Vision (Metron and Trimax) are compatible.

Price and availability

The SuperSlice Lab71 is available in four sizes (XS, S, M, L) as a frameset, including frame, fork, basebar and seatpost.
