Reserve Wheels launches RD1: wheel brand's first one-piece carbon cockpit

Reserve Wheels expands beyond wheels with the RD1, an integrated carbon handlebar with monocoque construction. Weight from 301 grams, lifetime warranty with no weight limit, and a price tag of €549.

Spare Wheels, until now best known for WorldTour-level carbon wheel sets with Visma-Lease a Bike, among others, is entering the cockpit market. On 17 February 2026, the brand presented the RD1, a fully integrated one-piece carbon handlebar for road and all-road.

The RD1 is built as a monocoque construction, with handlebars and stem consisting of a single piece of carbon. This eliminates the traditional seam between the two parts, which Reserve says gives a better stiffness-to-weight ratio. Depending on the size, the assembly comes out to 301 to 341 grams.

Routing and compatibility

The handlebar is fully optimised for internal cable routing and specifically designed around the Acros ICR-headset with 52 mm upper bearing. Included are a headset cover for that Acros system, spacers and an integrated computer mount. Covers for other headset manufacturers are in development, according to Reserve, but were not yet available at launch. Compatibility with other headset systems is still limited at launch.

Ergonomics and dimensions

The RD1 has a compact profile with 6 degree flare in the drops, a reach of 75 mm and a drop of 125 mm. The voting angle is -6 degrees on a standard 1 ⅛” stem. Reserve offers 12 configurations, with handlebar widths ranging from 36 to 42 cm and stem lengths from 80 to 120 mm, although not every combination is available.

Reserve limits the area where handlebar tape is wrapped to the grip areas.

Price and warranty

The RD1 costs €549 in the EU. By comparison, the Enve SES AR one-piece sits well above that amount, while the Roval Alpinist SL is in a similar price range but is lighter (255 g in 420×110 mm) and does have a maximum rider weight.

Reserve extends the lifetime warranty from its wheel line to the RD1, including no rider weight limit. Reserve gives the same lifetime warranty on the RD1 as on its wheels, with no rider weight limit.
