The Colnago V5Rs by Isaac del Toro: unpainted carbon for the mountains

The 21-year-old Mexican Isaac del Toro He had a strong Tour: he won the second stage on Montjuïc in Barcelona, and took the white sweater of the best young riders and finished on the podium. Colnago is now showing the bike he used to do that in the mountains: the V5Rs.

A striking detail: he won the race in Barcelona on the V5Rs. After a mechanical problem with his Y1Rs, he had to change tires, and then he rode back up the steep slopes from where he had lost the lead.

Our perspective

The V5Rs are the lighter sibling of the Y1Rs, and the fact that Del Toro chose it for the mountains says a lot. Moreover, the unpainted carbon is not only beautiful; it also really saves grams.
