BBB Cycling introduces with the CoreCap a new valve concept that aims to radically improve a commonly used component of cycling. Instead of the classic Presta valve core, which can regularly warp, get clogged by sealant or including special pump heads, the CoreCap offers a robust alternative. Is this the smart response to Schwalbe's Clik Valve?

The system consists of two variants: a complete aluminium tubeless valve set and an upgrade set that allows you to modernise existing valves without replacing entire tubes. The core promise is that the CoreCap offers up to 300 % delivers more airflow than traditional valves, which should especially make inflating tyres - and setting tubeless tyres without a compressor - easier.
What makes it different?
Traditional Presta valves have a fragile, removable core. This can bend, get jammed by latex or simply break with heavy use. BBB's CoreCap replaces this fragile part with a sturdier internal mechanism. This, we can assume, eliminates the problems of classic valves.
An additional advantage is compatibility with Schrader-pumping, meaning you can use almost any pump head with this valve. For many riders on the road or in the workshop, that saves an extra reducer or special pump head. This is the smart innovation compared to the Clik Valve, for which you need new pump heads in addition to new valves. Now it's not a world investment, but it's still something many will consider.
Specs & price indication
- Available as a complete set in lengths 40/60/80 mm and in multiple colours.
- Upgrade sets €16.95, complete valves are now €29.95
The question remains how the CoreCap performs in practice on stone-cold morning rides or with lots of sealant in tubeless setups. But on paper, BBB hereby offers a striking alternative to a decades-old valve design.
