October is breast cancer awareness month worldwide, and the Belgian Cycling Federation is also doing its bit this year. In collaboration with sportswear manufacturer Bioracer and Think Pink, the Belgian breast cancer organisation, they have launched a special pink version of the iconic Belgian Cycling cycling shirt. This shirt will not only become a symbol of support, but also contribute to breast cancer research. For every shirt sold, €10 will be donated to Think Pink.
Sport as a means to stay healthy
The initiative is not just about financial support. Think Pink emphasises the importance of exercise during and after breast cancer treatment. Regular exercise reduces the risk of the disease and plays an important role in the recovery process. "Exercise is very important, both physically and mentally," said Heidi Vansevenant, president of Think Pink. "Whether you exercise for fun or train intensively, any form of exercise has a positive impact on your health."
The iconic cycling jersey in a new look
Bioracer, known for its high-quality cycling equipment, chose to replace the classic Belgian Blue with pink as a powerful message for breast cancer awareness. "We are proud to be part of this initiative and strongly believe in the impact we can make together," said Danny Segers, CEO of Bioracer. "By wearing this shirt, cyclists can not only contribute to a good cause, but also show their commitment to breast cancer research."
Impact
The 'Think Pink Edition' cycling shirt is available via the official channels of Bioracer, Belgian Cycling and Think Pink. The proceeds support breast cancer research and encourage people to stay active even during the cold months. This makes it not only a fashion item, but also a powerful symbol of solidarity and health. The shirt is available from €89.00 for both women and men.
A joint effort for a good cause
Cycling is all about cooperation and perseverance. With this initiative, the Belgian Cycling Federation, Bioracer and Think Pink are showing that they stand strong together in the fight against breast cancer. Through awareness-raising and financial support, they hope to make a difference, both for patients and the scientific community.
