Canyon has the Third generation of the Grail Presented, his gravel racing bike. The brand calls him, without modesty, the fastest and most complete gravel racer there is. The previous Grail won, among other things, Unbound and a world title; the new one won immediately at its debut, with Rosa Klöser.
What's new?
- 57 mm tire space: The frame and fork fit tires up to 57 mm (2.25 inches), with still over 4 mm of clearance.
- Aerodynamics at gravel speed: In the wind tunnel, the Grail was 35 km/h faster than all the competing models tested, according to Canyon.
- Steering more stable: longer wheelbase, a ball head angle of 71.5 degrees and 69 mm trail in the core dimensions.
- 15 mm lower stack then the predecessor, for a more aggressive racing position.
- PACE cockpit (CFR and CF SLX): You adjust the handlebar height and width with one Torx 25 key.
- Storage compartment in the lower part of the seat, luggage bags in collaboration with Cyclite, new GR 50 CF carbon wheels and a Gear Groove for lights, computer or handlebar mount.

Three versions
The Grail CFR It is the lightest, as the pros ride it, with SRAM RED XPLR AXS or Shimano GRX Di2 (800 series) and DT Swiss GRC 1100 wheels. In Europe you can customize it through MyCanyon, with additional colors, wheels, handlebars and saddle. The Grail CF SLX The race bike is for the ‘privateer’, with SRAM Force XPLR AXS or GRX Di2 (700-series). The Grail CF The entry-level model comes equipped with SRAM Rival XPLR AXS or the mechanical Shimano GRX 600. All versions are available in seven sizes, from 2XS to 2XL.
Our perspective
That 57 mm is the new standard for gravelraceThe bike says a lot about how quickly gravel changes. Wide tires and aero go hand in hand here, and the lower stack shows that Canyon is thinking primarily of competitive riders. Those who mainly ride Dutch bike paths and forest roads have more than enough with the CF version.
