Brompton introduces the G Line, a new folding bike that offers the riding feel of a full-size bike for a variety of terrains, while retaining its distinctive folding design.
On September 17, 2024, the Brompton the G Line unveiled: the very first 20″ Brompton. This bike is designed to go off the beaten track. Comfort in town but also out of town!
A New Approach in Folding Bikes
Since 1975, Brompton has changed the way people get around in and around cities with their compact folding bikes. With the introduction of the G Line, Brompton combines the feel and riding experience of a large-wheeled bike with the convenience of their signature folding mechanism.

The G Line features:
- 20" wheels With custom-made Schwalbe tubeless-ready tyres.
- Hydraulic disc brakes For reliable braking in all weather conditions.
- A Shimano Alfine 8-speed hub, integrated into the rear wheel, for smooth shifting on a variety of terrains.

Designed for Comfort and Convenience
The G Line has been developed and tested with a renowned bikefitter to provide an optimal riding experience. Available in three sizes (small, medium and large), the bike keeps one frame size but varies the length of the stem. Weighing from 13.9 kg in size Small, the bike is light enough for easy transport.

In addition to the G Line, Brompton introduces the Electric G Line, which offers the same versatility with additional electric assistance.
Tom Kerr, G Line Design Lead, says: "We designed the Electric G Line bike and the e-system as one. Every element has been carefully designed from the start to work together smoothly, both in the city and outside."

- 250-watt rear-wheel hub motor for stability and traction on a variety of surfaces.
- Three levels of support for a personalised driving experience.
- A lightweight battery of 345 Wh that offers 30-60 km of range on a single charge.
- Bluetooth connection with the Brompton Electric smartphone app for system updates and additional features.
- Integrated lighting powered by the bike's battery, with a 9-watt headlight and a 1-watt rear light with built-in reflector.
Accessories and customisation options
Brompton has a special range G Line accessories developed, including:
- Luggage carrier and mudguards for additional functionality.
- Bags which can be securely attached to the front of the bike.
- A in-frame tool kit for maintenance on the road.
The G Line is compatible with Brompton's existing bag system, allowing owners to customise their bike to suit their needs.

With 50 years of experience, Brompton bikes are built to last. Each steel frame is handmade and undergoes quality checks at the brand's London factory. The G Line comes with a 7-year warranty on the frame.
Availability and prices
The G Line and Electric G Line will be available from October 2024 in three sizes and in an assortment of new colours ranging from eye-catching to subtle shades.
