Isaac launches the Kaon: versatile carbon adventure bike for both gravel and asphalt

Isaac Cycle expands its range with a new platform: the Isaac Kaon. This full carbon adventure bike targets cyclists who want to combine asphalt and gravel without compromising on performance or equipment. Offered in two configurations - Road and Gravel - the Kaon is built around a lightweight carbon frame with plenty of mounting options for mudguards, bags and other accessories. Designed in the Netherlands, the Kaon is hand-built in Geleen according to the one man, one bike' principle.

Designed for versatility

The Kaon is Isaac's answer to the demand for more flexibility. Cyclists are increasingly combining different surfaces within a single ride. The Kaon responds to this with geometry and frame clearance that leaves room for wide tyres and mounting points for bikepacking, but without the handling feeling cumbersome or sluggish.

The frame is made entirely of carbon and optimised for comfort and control, even when the terrain gets rougher. Both Road and Gravel versions offer internal cable routing and are suitable for disc brakes.

Two variants: Road & Gravel

The Kaon comes in two clearly defined versions, each with its own group set and deployment purpose:

  • Kaon Road
    • Group sets: Shimano 105 Di2 or Shimano 105 mechanical
    • Use: Allroad, endurance, commuter
    • Tyre width: up to approx. 35 mm (depending on rim and setup)
  • Kaon Gravel
    • Groupset: Shimano GRX610 1x
    • Use: Gravel, bikepacking, mixed terrain
    • Tyre width: up to approx. 45 mm (depending on space at fork/rear)

Both versions are tubeless ready and compatible with dynamo hub systems and mudguards, which also makes them suitable for commuting or touring in adverse weather conditions.

  • Brakes: Flat-mount disc brakes

Weight and price

Although exact weights depend on fitment and size, positioning Isaac the Kaon as a lightweight within the adventure segment. The total package is available from €2.949, which is competitive considering its full carbon construction, Shimano fitting and versatile use.

Assembly quality: one man, one bike

A distinguishing point for Isaac is the assembly process. Each Kaon is assembled entirely by hand in the Netherlands (Geleen) by a single mechanic. This not only ensures strict quality control, but also makes each bike unique within the production line.

Conclusion

The Isaac Kaon cleverly fills the gap between pure gravel bike and comfortable endurance racer. It is versatile, technically soundly built, and with the attention to detail we know from Isaac. The choice of Road and Gravel versions makes it easier for riders to personalise their setup, without getting lost in endless configurations.

For bikepackers, commuters, or cyclists who just like adventure riding without changing bikes: the Kaon is an interesting option. Especially considering the pricing for a custom-built bike with carbon frame and modern groupsets.
