Before the start of the Tour de France in Barcelona, Colnago showed which bikes the world champion rides. Tadej Pogačar the round is running. For the off-road sections, that's the Y1Rs, For the time trials, a new machine: the TT2.
Y1Rs for the road sections
- Size M, with integrated CC.Y1 handlebar (owl shape) and 3D-printed aeroholder
- Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 with 165 mm cranks and Carbon-Ti blades from 55/40, cassette 11-36
- ENVE SES 4.5 Pro wheels with Continental GP5000 TT TR: nominally 28 mm, measured to be about 31 mm wide
- Custom-made 3D-printed Fizik Argo saddle
- Weight: 7.07 kilograms

TT2 for the time trials
The TT2 is, according to Colnago, one of those 550 grams lighter then the TT1 and more aerodynamic, with a narrow front and integrated fork. Pogačar rides the 1x with one huge front fork 64 teeth and short cranks of 160 mm, with one for an ENVE wheel of 100 mm and one at the rear for a dense disc.
Our perspective
Striking: 165 mm cranks and 55/40 on the road bike, and 160 mm cranks in the time trial. Short cranks are clearly the new norm among pros. And the 7.07 kilograms show that aero and stiffness are now more important than meeting the UCI weight limit.
