They are positioned as an innovative solution for time trials (TT) and triathlons, but also offer a robust alternative to other performance cycling systems. The two main models presented are the CADEX Max Aero Disc and the CADEX Aero 4-Spoke. Both are the result of detailed wind tunnel testing and the experiences of pro racers in WorldTour and Ironman racing.

The wheels in action in the race

CADEX Max Aero Disc: lighter and stiffer for better performance

The CADEX Max Aero Disc is aimed at delivering exceptional performance in both time trials and triathlons. The design incorporates an optimised combination of Super-light carbon spoke structures and tubeless-ready, hookless rims, which minimises drag while improving ride comfort. A distinctive feature of this model is the use of 1K carbon fabric, which not only increases the strength of the rims, but also ensures lower weight than traditional designs. The 22.4 mm inner rim width supports wider tubeless tyres, contributing to better grip and less rolling resistance.

One of the biggest technological innovations is the Max Aero Disc spoke structure. The use of integrated carbon spoke flanges provides a higher lateral stiffness and improved power transfer without compromising on weight. Compared to its predecessor, the Max Aero Disc delivers up to 54.3% more lateral stiffness and 20.2% more transmission stiffness, which translates into more efficient power conversion when accelerating and climbing hills.

Furthermore, the CADEX Max Aero Disc an asymmetric tread, which improves load distribution and reduces flex during cycling. This technology increases stability, especially when riding in unpredictable conditions, such as side winds or cornering.

CADEX Aero 4-Spoke: outstanding control in variable wind conditions

The CADEX Aero 4-Spoke is designed for optimal control and stability, even in challenging wind conditions. This model has a 4-spoke configuration which is specifically designed to perform in crosswinds, making it less susceptible to crosswind distortions than other aerodynamic wheels. This makes the 4-spoke an excellent choice for both competitive riders and triathletes who regularly ride in unpredictable conditions.

The combination of 50 mm front wheel and 65 mm rear wheel not only offers an aerodynamic advantage, but also improves control during high speeds. Test results show that the CADEX Aero 4-Spoke a lower air resistance figure achieves than many competitors, especially in main wind and at wind of 20°. This contributes to a more efficient driving experience, especially during time trials or long triathlon sections.

Another important feature of the CADEX Aero 4-Spoke is the use of CADEX Low Friction R3-C40 hubswith ceramic bearings. These bearings reduce friction by 30% compared to steel bearings, increasing overall efficiency and ensuring better conversion of pedal energy into speed.

Advanced technologies for performance

Both wheel sets benefit from a range of advanced technologies which are aimed at improving aerodynamics, stiffness, and efficiency. The CADEX Aero Carbon Spokes are designed to minimise lateral flex, which is especially noticeable when accelerating and climbing. The spoke structure provides greater stability without sacrificing aerodynamic performance.

In addition, it is hookless rim design of the CADEX wheels is an important innovation. It uses a wider rim width, providing better grip and more optimal contact between the tyre and the road surface, without significantly increasing weight. The design also improves airflow around the tyre, which improves aerodynamics.

Conclusion

The new CADEX Max Aero Disc and CADEX Aero 4-Spoke are designed for riders looking for maximum aerodynamic efficiency, excellent control in variable wind conditions and better power transmission.
