This makes them compatible with tyres from <strong>25 mm to 55 mm<\/strong>, making them an interesting choice for both road and gravel riders. The <strong>hooked tubeless-ready rims<\/strong> offer the flexibility to choose between a <strong>Traditional inner tube setup or tubeless setup<\/strong> for less rolling resistance and a smoother ride.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What is immediately noticeable is that Van Rysel does not specifically pigeonhole the wheels - a smart move. The total weight of the set is <strong>1,490 grams<\/strong> (670g for the front wheel, 820g for the rear wheel). This makes it an attractive option for riders who like to do a lot of altimeters.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>VR 50:<\/strong> This model, with a <strong>50 mm high rim<\/strong>, is optimised for <strong>aerodynamic efficiency<\/strong>. Van Rysel claims a <strong>16% improvement in aerodynamics<\/strong> compared to the VR 35, meaning this model is better suited for <strong>flat roads, fast rides and time trials<\/strong>. Compared to big brands like Zipp, Enve or Roval, these wheel sets are <strong>significantly cheaper<\/strong>, while on paper they offer similar specifications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The big question, of course, is: <strong>how do these specs translate to the road?<\/strong> Van Rysel still lacks the long history and racing heritage that other brands do, but if their carbon frames and aero helmets are any indication, these wheels could perform surprisingly well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A comparable wheelset from a premium brand will soon cost <strong>\u20ac<\/strong>1.500<strong> <\/strong>to<strong> \u20ac<\/strong>2,000, while Van Rysel is almost half the price. For riders who <strong>want good aerodynamic performance and low weight without raiding their bank account,<\/strong> this seems like a smart choice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Conclusion: an interesting option for price-conscious riders<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Van Rysel put with the <strong>VR 35 and VR 50<\/strong> a strong first step into the world of carbon wheelsets.
