According to Campagnolo: more fluid shifting, smaller transitions between gears and thus a better pedalling frequency in every situation. And yes, that also means you can find "just that one tooth" more often. The system is fast - faster than any 12-speed system, according to Campagnolo itself.

Ergonomics and electronics go hand in hand

The ergonomics of the shifters have been completely rethought. Whether you are riding on top, in the curve or in the brackets, the controls are more intuitive and direct. Everything is smaller, tighter and more functional. The whole group is wireless - including a new battery architecture with 750km range, fast-charging function (90% in 45 minutes), and USB charging capability without disassembling the battery.

The rear derailleur 25% became more compact than its predecessor, shifting faster and quieter and received a derailleur cage with larger wheels (14T) and ceramic bearings. The front derailleur has a new carbon cage and a range of 29 to 55 teeth - so suitable for the whole spectrum of classic to modern cranksets.

Campagnolo Super Record 13 cassettes: four variants, more choices

Campagnolo is sticking with the N3W body, so existing users can switch over in no time. All in carbon, with titanium Ultra-Torque axles and crank lengths from 165 to 175 mm. The power meter is a story in itself: the HPPM (High Precision Power Measurement) works with 16 sensors and measures every 5 milliseconds, cross-referencing with a gyroscope. Campa's goal: a power measurement that is truly accurate, in all conditions.

Cranks and chainrings are available separately, with or without a power meter. Smart, as this allows riders to put together their set according to their type of ride or bike.

Why this counts - even for enthusiasts

In a market where Shimano and SRAM have dominated for years with 12-speed electronic systems, Campagnolo seems to be reinventing itself. Not with garish marketing, but with a combination of precision, control and sleek Italian design.

Super Record 13 is not a revolution. It is evolution with course understanding. For riders who feel that shifting gears is not an afterthought, but an essential part of rhythm, agility and speed.

Availability and recommended retail prices will be announced later this summer. But that this groupset is going to find its way to enthusiasts, classic riders, bikepackers and WorldTour pros, is a given as far as we are concerned.
