When you purchase it, you get 45 days of premium access, which also allows you to ride real routes from around the world. In Garmin Connect, you can create a free Garmin Coach training plan that you then follow in the Tacx Training app. With an Edge bike computer or Garmin watch, you can see indoor and outdoor rides along with your recovery data. And for those who want more: with the Tacx Alpine (gradients up to 25%, descents up to -10%), the front of the bike also goes up and down.

The standard version comes with a pre-assembled cassette. With the Nēra, Garmin brings it under the thousand-euro mark, which makes it interesting for anyone who rides indoors every winter. What we want to know: how quiet is it, how natural does the movement feel during a sprint, and how well does the virtual switching work outside of Zwift? As soon as we can test it, you’ll read about it here.

More about training with Tacx

New Garmin Tacx Alpine vs. Wahoo KICKR Climb

10 tips for buying an indoor bike trainer

Source: Garmin, press release of September 22, 2026.

Garmin launches the Tacx Nēra: a smart trainer that moves forward, backward and sideways, can handle up to 2,200 watts and measures within 1% minute.
