Jakob Omrzel (20) wins solo at Calar Alto in the Vuelta, his first professional victory

The twenty-year-old Slovenian Jakob Omrzel from Bahrain Victorious won the twelfth stage of the Vuelta alone at Calar Alto. Team mate Santiago Buitrago came in third and strengthened his lead in the mountain classification.

The young Slovenian, just twenty years old Jakob Omrzel has achieved his first professional victory, and immediately in a big round. The rider of Bahrain victorious won the twelfth stage of the Vuelta a España, arriving uphill Calar Alto.

Omrzel crossed the finish line 13 kilometers before the finish line and held on to the lead until the very end. He crossed the finish line solo, with 1 minute and 56 seconds ahead of the first pursuers. A great day for the team: teammate Santiago Buitrago finished third and led by 22 points in the mountain jersey.
