Gobik Supersonica: aerocycle developed with Filippo Ganna, up to 18 watts of power in the time trial

Gobik launches Supersonica, its fastest clothing collection to date: a time trial suit, a road suit and four aero accessories. Tested in more than 30 sessions in the Silverstone wind tunnel, with the help of Filippo Ganna.

The Spanish clothing brand Gobik presents Supersonica, According to the brand, this is their most advanced aerocycle collection to date. The clothing has been developed with WorldTour teams and time trial specialists. Filippo Ganna, and tested in more than 30 sessions in the Silverstone wind tunnel, using real race bikes, pedal movements and various wind angles.

What does it yield?

  • Mach time trial suit + Boundary undershirt: 15 to 18 watts gain at high speed compared to Gobik's previous time trial pack
  • Stratos road package: up to 10 percent more aerodynamic than the Madison model, and stable in crosswind
  • Drag shoes: an additional 5 to 8 watts, due to less turbulence around the foot and ankle

The collection

  • Long-sleeved Mach Time Trial Pack (236 grams)
  • Stratos coverall with short sleeves and 3D textured fabric on shoulders and sleeves (220 grams)
  • Boundary undershirt (55 grams), Drag overshoes (64 grams), Kinetic gloves (17 grams) and Pinkie socks

The collection is available from July 2 via Gobik and its dealers. Gobik does not mention prices in the announcement. Gobik dresses, among others, Ineos Grenadiers, UAE Team Emirates, Movistar and FDJ-SUEZ.

Our perspective

15 to 18 watts is a hefty claim, but it’s a comparison with Gobik’s own previous pack. For most cyclists, the Stratos road pack is the most interesting: a race pack with sleeves that are tuned to real wind, for those who race on the clock or in a criterium.
