Lapierre is withdrawing from the cross-country World Cup and is disbanding the Lapierre PXR Racing Team. According to the brand, the reason is not riders" or staff's performance, but the "current context" of the company.

The French bicycle brand Lapierre stops his participation in the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup in the cross-country. This also eliminates the Lapierre PXR Racing Team, and the brand is stopping its competition program in this discipline.

Lapierre cites “the current context in which Lapierre finds itself” as the reason, without further explaining. The brand emphasizes that the decision has nothing to do with the performance or commitment of the riders and staff, and thanks its partners Michelin, Julbo, SRAM, RockShox and Zéfal.

Lapierre is part of the Accell Group. In early August, a trustee was appointed for Accell UK & Ireland. Lapierre himself does not connect this news with the situation.

Our perspective

A quiet but significant message. On the road, Lapierre remains visible as the bike supplier for Team Picnic PostNL. We will keep an eye on how things go with the brands of Accell.
