Pirelli continues its innovation in road bike tyres with the introduction of the P ZERO Race RS: a tubetype race tyre designed entirely for performance without the use of tubeless technology. With feedback from WorldTour teams Alpecin-Deceuninck and Lidl-Trek this tyre is optimised for the demanding rider who wants to combine speed and convenience.
Although tubeless is the dominant narrative in contemporary cycling, Pirelli shows that the traditional inner tube construction is far from obsolete. The P ZERO Race RS is optimised for use with the Pirelli SmarTUBE - an ultra-light TPU inner tube - and in that combination delivers a weight savings of up to 50 grams per wheel compared to conventional tyres and without sacrificing rolling resistance.

Technical overview:
- ConstructionTubetype clincher
- Compound: SmartEVO - already known from Pirelli's top models
- Use: Optimum performance with Pirelli's proprietary SmarTUBE TPU inner tube
- Weight advantage: To 50 g saving per wheel compared to standard setup
- Sustainability: 14% of the total weight consists of FSC®-certified natural rubber

Durable and race-ready
Interestingly, Pirelli also takes durability seriously: 14% of the total weight consists of FSC®-certified natural rubber, sourced from responsibly managed forests. The tyre is produced in the Milan-Bollate factory in Italy, where Pirelli concentrates its premium production lines for road bike tyres.
For whom.
The P ZERO Race RS is aimed at cyclists who seek performance but do not want or cannot make the switch to tubeless. Think race riders, time trial specialists or fans of a light, sleek race set-up with minimal maintenance burden.
A high-performance clincher tyre with WorldTour DNA - that's what the P ZERO Race RS offers. And that, in 2025, is a refreshing alternative in a market full of latex, sealant and compressors.
